This week finished out well. Thursday night Mike joined his friends at FFC to celebrate getting through the first round interviews with Phoenix. Now they all just wait for the results.
Friday Mike and I went to get a coffee while Matthew was at Speech in the morning. We went last week too. Last week we met this little bird, a sparrow we think, while we were sitting outside that has this disjointed leg. He compensates very well though. Out of pity we gave him a few crumbs from our scone and he stood his ground fine...Well, this week we saw the same little guy and shared our scone with him again, so I named him Jack and hope he's still there next week. if so, I'll snap a picture so you all can meet him too :)
Niko came home Friday having another fabulous week at school. He's been doing good in class and trying really hard. One day at a time.
We got finished uploading the majority of our photos from 2003 and 2005 onto Flickr. This is that horribly enormous undertaking that we've been working on this week. And to think we still have 5+ years left. It will be great when we're caught up with all that. Flickr is a great, awesome service and solution for online media storage. Our desktop computer has been hiccuping and sighing every now and then and with thousands of photos on it, we got a bit nervous and anxious and feel much better about this solution. If our computer dumps or gets stolen or is in a fire, we don't loose anything, it's all online...This project is also why we haven't posted any new photos recently. We've taken them, but they are still on the camera...We'll get you caught up soon.
This morning, Saturday, I went to the orientation for the Mesa Fire Department's Connector Program. The majority of the 25 people there are interested in a Fire Career (and male, i might add) I was one of 3 females, not a big deal, but with me being more interested in the volunteer aspect of it and not really wanting to use it as a foothold into a career right now, not sure how well I'll stand in competition for the 15 spots they have open. My interview is 9/29 in the morning. Even though it's volunteering, they said to treat it as a job interview and it will be done in front of a panel just as the oral boards are done for the job of Fire Fighter. This is an opportunity that I would LOVE to be a part of, hearing what is encompassed in what they do, so I hope that I do well in the interview and that my goals or lack thereof, will not hinder their decisions...
It's so nice to have Mike home this weekend. So we're going to go enjoy our family time.

Wow! It's already humpity-hump day!
It's just been pretty much a typical week so far. Nothing too exciting or remarkable aside form today. Monday, Matthew and I went to the library for reading time, got some great books to last us until Thursday or Friday...I heard from a reliable source (another teacher at the school) that they are interviewing for another 2nd grade teacher at the school. This is awesome news being that they'll be able to divide up the 65+ second graders into three classes form the 2 they currently have (no aides mind you) Hopefully this will happen sooner than later. Good news for everyone! This is supposed to be on the down-low, but considering i don't think anyone from his school reads this, i think we're good.
Tuesday, i got caught up with some house work and started a huge task of uploading all our digital photos to a Flickr account. Once it's done, everything will be stored online and much easier to organize, manage and view. More to come on that. It starts back in 2002. So like i said, HUGE task.
Now we are here, today, Wednesday. Mike had his Phoenix interview this morning and felt it went very, very well. he made connection with the oral board, he hit all the points that he wanted to hit, felt he really succeeded in telling them who he is...We'll find out next week probably if he gets a second interview.
Tonight, Mike is at a D-backs baseball game with his dad. The season is winding down to a close, so they need to get a few more games in...Niko is off to Royal Rangers tonight. I need to get some typing done. And that's pretty much it.

Another week gone...
We had a fun and eventful week. But what week isn't when you have a household of Clesceri's?
Mike had a good weekend last week working with some new partners on the ambulance. The kids and I went over to our friends house while Mike was at work and played games for a while. it was nice to 'get out' of the house for a while...
Monday started bright and early with Bethany going to Band before school. Monday was also school picture day...We got Bethany's room all finished up with curtains and wall hangings. We found what we needed on clearance and ended up getting 3 valances for 1.50 each and 4 panels to cover 'the wall' at 2.50 each. Love finding deals on what we need. it's great! By Wednesday night, we all were pretty wiped out and skipped Royal Rangers. Niko was pretty bummer out but is looking forward to this weeks class.
At some point this week, Matthew and I were watching this show on the discovery channel or something and they were talking about Niagara Falls. It said, "Nothing can stop the flow of the great Niagara falls, not even the harsh cold winters..." Matthew looks to me, "God can stop the river, right mom? God can do anything" As a momma, I love little moments like that.
Thursday, my friend and i started going to a bible study about Daniel. Mike also got word on Thursday that Medcare, the Ambulance company he's been working for on the weekends, got their contract reneged because of the political crud that goes on with Southwest, the company that they are contracted out from. So, on Thursday, 9/11, they had to call all the ambulances in and everyone was sent home. This means that Mike no longer will be working on the weekends. We are actually pretty okay with it. With me back at the county, it offsets our budget and it's so incredibly great for Mike to be home now on the weekends. It was great while it lasted to be able to get shifts when he wanted, but it's kind of a relief that he will be home now again.
Thursday I also ran down to Mesa to get my fingerprinting done and get my application into the Mesa Fire Volunteer Connector Program. It's a community assistance program similar to what Mike does at Phoenix, but a bit different. Interviews for that are in about two weeks. So we'll see how that goes. Mike is really involved in the community, but I am excited about an opportunity for myself to get out there and interact with and serve the community. Get out of my own little world a couple times a month.
Thursday night he got together with some of his guy friends to go over interview material for his Phoenix interview on Wednesday the 17th. As always, it was time well spent and more than just 'working on interviews' they really are some great guys and he really appreciates his relationships with them.
Friday was Mike's day off. After Matthew went to speech, we got some errands done, found backpacks for the kids for next year at an incredible deal...looked for a belt for mike's interview...in the early afternoon, Mike and I went out on a date. Our friends from up the street took the kids and Mike and I had some nice one on one time. It was still an early night by the time we got home.
Mike took his PAT with Gila River Fire on Saturday morning. He missed the run by 2 seconds. This is so exciting though because of how much he's improved on this particular test. It's so different than the CPAT. He is still training for it even though he didn't pass. If he can get that under his belt and have it be a non-issue that would be a huge accomplishment. He is almost there. It's a mile run, a set of 'chest-to-fist' push ups, sit ups, jumping jacks, and leg lifts. maybe I should start training with Mike. it's a great workout by itself to run through the whole thing every other day.
Saturday, we went swimming at the YMCA. It's still pretty warm, although it has cooled off a bit. Been in the 98-100's. So swimming was still refreshing. We also picked up an antique desk for Bethany's room at a garage sale-the price? Free, of coarse :)
Now we're just watching the Cardinals game and enjoying a lazy Sunday.

It's hump day...ugh...of a short week nonetheless...
Quick catch up-
Mike went in on an earlier shift on Monday which got him home early enough for him and I to have dinner together and get to bed at a decent hour. That was nice...The kids had a rough day on Monday though and resulted in them having to do a lot of weeding out in the yard. Fun day for them-ha! Just because school's back in, I know that we are all getting AZ version of cabin fever real bad right about now. Sad thing is we still have a good month left of these darn triple digits....(And don't worry, they were weeding in the shade and had plenty of water and I was out with them) Anyhow...
Yesterday Mike had his Gilbert FD interview. We'll be hearing back from them in a couple weeks. His buddy said that interviewing is like dating, you kind of play the filed, interviewing with all over, but eventually you'll settle down with the right one :)
Last night we also got some boards for the opening in Bethany's room so that project can near completion hopefully by this weekend.
Today, Mike went into work-back to the grind...Bethany was excited to show up to orchestra class with her violin in hand this morning...Tonight is Royal Rangers for the boys and pal-time for Mike and Bethany...
